Wattpad, Please Let Writers Save Their Hard Work! Wattpad and Writers right.

The Issue

Your stories are more vulnerable than they appear. If you wake up one morning and your story has disappeared from Wattpad, you might never get it back. With this petition, Wattpad should be able to send you a link via email. With this link, you should be able to download all your stories to docs. Another option would be if your story violated any guidelines, Wattpad would make your story only visible to you. Because no matter what you do, nobody deserves to lose their hard work. This is a basic human right!

Wattpad should also try to give old users their deleted stories, it should not matter if their account was deleted 8 years ago. People are forever affected by the loss of their stories. You might occasionally hear about a popular author getting their hard work deleted. But can you truly imagine the pain of losing all of your stories after working hard on an account and dedicating years to it.

I LOVE Wattpad. It's the reason why I have a passion for writing. It's the reason why I've met so many great people. It's the reason why I got over my depression. But I also love my stories. Please sign, so people will keep on writing and reading on Wattpad.

How can Wattpad have 90 million users (about twice the population of California) and still not know the pain an author goes through when they lose something they worked hard on?

Wattpad knows that half of its users are teenagers/kids who just want to write. They are taking stories away from young and inspiring authors. Tumblr, YouTube, vine all has features like what I suggested that prevent their losers from losing their work.

Wattpad is aware of this problem and has not done anything to fix it. Wattpad has not said anything regarding this issue. So, we need to go the extra mile and show Wattpad what we really want.

Some of you might say “You should have saved it to your computer,” but you can´t do that when you´re constantly improving your story. Especially if you are drafting multiple books. Many people love and trust Wattpad with their stories, which is foolish considering it is a cooperation. Many people will realize that when it is too late. This is foolish, but Wattpad is like another world to people, you meet so many great people like you, you almost forget about the serious stuff (like account deletion.)

Wattpad deleted a new account I had made I disabled the account for safety reasons I went to log in and they told me the username and password were incorrect when everything was correct

"Books are to remind us of what fools and arses we are!" -Faber, Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury Again this is the same unnecessary censorship we've been trying to avoid as a virtual village! And Wattpad is making a dick move as part of some anti-vice scare caused by PornHub. Screw the investors, I'd donate huge sums to keep the severs alive and user accounts active!

I’m new to the writing business, and I do not write any explicit content. I’ve read stories and they were amazing. Please don’t do this.
