For those that have lived in Meadowbrook for any length of time, particularly in the western part of the subdivision, you know that power outages have become a regular thing. Even the slightest breeze on an otherwise sunny day can produce an outage that can last the better portion of a day. This is even more frustrating for those of us on Heath Row Dr, Harvest Ridge Ln, Skylark Dr, and other nearby streets where we can literally see neighbors on the other side of the street and sometimes neighbors on all three sides of us who do not experience these outages. Those neighbors who are fortunate enough to seem to always have power are fed from the US-280 side of the neighborhood and rarely experience outages. However, those of us who are fed from the Meadow Dr side of the neighborhood, via the Inverness 35kV circuit, are constantly experiencing outages.

This petition is to raise awareness and request that Alabama Power Company resolve the issue of the continued outages for this portion of Meadowbrook. In the past they have stated that the issue is related to right of way clearances where overhead lines feed the neighborhood. Since the majority of Meadowbrook has underground utilities, then I request that Alabama Power Company bury the feeder lines in the troublesome areas so that wind and tree limb related outages are no longer an issue.
