Current update: Prop. 16 was defeated by California voters by 57% vs 43% margin in Nov. 2020. However, identity politics did not go away, and it become WOKE and Cancel culture. To continue the equality journey for Asians, I am changing the percentage to 16% (from the original 15%) to commemorate the the No Prop. 16 campaign. It was a David vs. Goliath fight, funding at 10 to 1 (for vs against), and none of these politicians, political insiders, national media, both parties gave the No campaign any chance. In the end, we triumphed with the supporters all races in California (including Latino and African Americans who stands to benefits from Prop.16, if passed). Now all national media pays attention at what is going on in the state of California. With majority of voters supports Prop. 209 (which Prop. 16 attempted to overthrow), 209 will become the foundation to build a society with race equality and harmony. No on Prop. 16 is a milestone of that journey.

What is Prop. 16? It repeals Prop. 209, passed by voters in 1996. Here is the content of prop. 209: "The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting."

We expect these pro sport teams to comply with racial "diversity" quota intended by Prop.16. We also know that Asian Americans are the overwhelmingly Under Represented Minority (URM) in pro sports (0.2% in NBA, 1.9% in NFL).

Therefore, we (the undersigned),

DEMAND that Warriors, Giants, A's, SF 49ers, Earthquakes, Oakland Roots, and SJ Sharks allocate 16% roster spots for Asian Americans (California Asian population) starting in 2020-2021 season, and guarantee no less than 16% of total game time.

DEMAND 16% in professional sport coaching stuff, management, and even ownership. Do what you preach. Stop the hypocrisy!
