This statue glorifies and celebrates a historical figure whom enslaved, tortured and murdered the indigenous people of this continent. It is offensive not only to natives, but also to the Hispanic people of New Britain. 
   I urge Mayor Erin Stewart and her council to remove this statue that is belittling to the minorities of the city.
