California Youth Connection is a YOUTH LED organization that transforms the foster care system through legislative, policy and practice change. 

Over the past 3 years CYC has been under the control of founding member 00 00. Since being in charge of there have been numerous reports of staff and members feeling bullied by the executive director and staff has been fearful of losing their jobs for supporting members and advocating for themselves and others. 

As of March 24, 2020, 00 has made the decision on her own to lay off ALL program and policy staff throughout the state. This has caused tear in our community and our family. We have developed deep connections and work with them almost every day. 

For a very vulnerable population, we already deal with feeling abandoned and the feelings of not being supported. CYC had given us that chosen family to be able to know that we are loved and we do have that support from everyone that we work with.

We cannot continue our work to transform the foster care system if we do not have our family right by our side to support to be able to do so. Haydee has torn us from our family in the exact same way the system already has.

We will not stand for this kind of leader. 

Members, please stand with us to make this right. We need our family back. We petition to remove 00 00 from the position of Executive Director for California Youth Connection effective immediately.
