Why this petition matters

Started by Louise Whiting

In February 2022 the Wivenhoe sorting office will be closed. A location for the new sorting facilities have not been found. With a population of over 7500 and an additional 120 houses, a care home and more to be built in the near future a disruption to postal services will significantly impact the community.

We are looking for the council to provide a reasonable solution for postal sorting for our village. The importance of the postal service has been highlighted in the pandemic and is critical  to a well functioning community. We need to keep people connected and businesses able to deliver to promises to be able to keep our village alive.

We understand times change but postal sorting is a critical function and we need this to remain even if it is not in the traditional location it has been in Wivenhoe. Please help us understand the change that you intend to make for the property and how you as representatives of our community are looking out for our community by continuing critical services.

Please sign this petition which will be delivered to councillors middle of July if you want to support Wivenhoe community keep their postal service. Let’s get all households signed up!!!
