Coyotes and bears have been sighted in populated areas in Westchester County. The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has been asked repeatedly to relocate these animals to remote wilderness areas but refuses to do so. This endangers our families and the wildlife that the DEC is supposed to protect. We request that the Department of Environmental Conservation get their priorities straight and relocate dangerous animals away from population centers. We ask that they act before a tragedy occurs instead of waiting for one to occur. In this time of Covid19 it is important that people have safe uncrowded outdoor areas to walk in and that they are not forced to lock themselves in their homes because the DEC is unwilling to do its job.
