The motivation for commemorating 12th of Rabiul Awwal his Birth Day (believed by a large majority) and the Day of Demise (undisputed) as  Compassion Day arose from the fact that a large number of Non-Muslim brethren have grave misunderstanding and misinformation about him while he was a real depiction of Compassion, true to the saying of the Holy Qur’an:

"And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds." (Qur'an 21:107)

His mercy and compassion was not limited to his followers but all creatures including animals.

What will the World do on Compassion Day:

It will be a day when all the people of the world will be inspired to perform at least one deed of compassion, sympathy, mercy, welfare, love or care for the living beings in his/her own way either collectively or individually. Imagine the whole world enacting compassion all around! That is what the world needs.

The Benefits of Compassion Day: 

Once People, the world over, realize that their tribute to the prophet should translate into emulating Prophet Muhammad in being foremost in doing deeds of mercy and compassion, following benefits are sure to accrue:

1. There would be greater involvement of people in the welfare of the society.

2. General upliftment of the society will occur.

3. Peace will prevail all around as amity between all religious, ethnic and other communities will grow.

4. People from different faith will join hands in the works of charity and goodwill promoting peace and brotherhood on Compassion Day. What the Dialogues by their leaders could not achieve, will be accomplished at the grass root level.  

5. Muslims will be able to offer their sincerest devotion towards the Prophet of Compassion - Prophet Muhammad by finally associating his name with Love, Compassion, and Mercy, a right which belongs to him.

6. To be one of those fortunate ones whose activities will be presented to and witnessed by the beloved Prophet.

United Nations General Assembly must pass a resolution to declare 12 Rabiul Awwal as Compassion Day
