We think that Australia Day should be celebrated on a Saturday, but there is not one Saturday that is more Australian than another, so let's invent a new concept in national public holidays that allows any Australian to choose their own Saturday to celebrate Australia Day. 

We think Australians should be able to choose any Saturday of the year to celebrate on a date that is important to them, not the day a bunch of convicts arrived in our great country. 

While we think that Australia Day should be on a Saturday when the weather is hot and beer cold, that's not fair for our fellow Australians living in the northern hemisphere or Tasmania, so why can't we just let each Australian choose their own Saturday to celebrate Australia Day?

Having Australia Day on a Saturday guarantees us each a long-weekend.

So let's get started and change the date of Australian Day to one that means something to all Australians.
