Why this petition matters

Started by KENYAN PARENTS IN USA

The Kenya Government requirement for all in Diaspora to register a MANDATORY Kenyan telephone line in order to obtain the e-passport will inconvenience many and more so the telephone line is of no use after registering.

The MANDATORY PIN requirement for those in diaspora have no meaning as they don't earn their income in Kenya and if required to pay taxes, it will only result to double taxation.

PIN is only applicable if one has a business in Kenya and own property.

The application should only be concerned with documents such as Kenyan ID and birth certificate only.(Like it was the case before)

The e-citizen application platform is designed for Kenyan residents but not for those in the Diaspora.

The application should accept telephone numbers in Diaspora and the PIN section left as optional.

Government should consider taking services closer to where people stay as it is costly and time consuming for all to go to DC.
