Why this petition matters

Started by Atim Oton

On August 26, 2016, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the National Anthem, before the 3rd preseason game of the 2016 NFL season.

He said simply:

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Kaepernick's protest made the conversation about “racialized police brutality" front-page news in 2016 and he was maligned and marginalized for it.

The uprisings today demand redress for the torture of BLACK LIVES with a focus on Police Brutality. The legacies of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery and so many other people require that we address the collective consequences of racism: state-sanctioned violence, and economic failure.

The NFL and Team Owners have systematically attempted to destroy the career of Colin Kaepernick by deliberately refusing to sign him to an NFL team.

If you are appalled by this, then show your power by boycotting the NFL. This means:

1. Do not watch any games
2. No social media comments about your favorite team before/during/after the games
3. Do not attend the stadiums
4. Do not buy any merchandise which represents the league or your favorite team.
5. Do not support any celebrities the side with then NFL.

We understand football is an American pastime, but we all have to march for justice: Colin Kaepernick's protest is FAR more important than any games you will ever watch. Simply put, if America -- where "all men are created equal" -- treats people of color as second class citizens,  your loved ones, friends, and children will be affected.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

More:

The NFL Owners precalculated that the protestors will affect their games thus income, so they talked and sent out the commissioner to come and apologize.. after an atrocious support statement...

Both statements never mentioned Colin Kaepernick...their silence and inaction is deafening.

Restitution plus so much more is needed since 75% of their players are black. This is what makes diversity not work: Owners snd Management is still 0.0001%
