We are Eco March Northampton, who held a March in Northampton town on the 26th April 2019. We had an astounding turnout of just under 300 people who all have one thing in common. A passion to save the environment. This was an amazing first step, raising awareness throughout the town and educating the citizens on the lethal issue of climate change. Now, we want to take our next crucial steps. Banning plastic bags. 

Plastic bags take 10-1000 years to decompose in landfills or end up in oceans killing 100,000 marine creatures each year. We want Northampton to be the first county in the UK to ban the plastic bag and instead, use sustainable alternatives such as tote bags or canvas bags.

Climate Emergency was declared in parliament on the 1st of May 2019 and we are taking this seriously. We want to take the first steps to become a more eco-friendly and sustainable county. If we are successful, we hope that the rest of the UK follows closely. Help us make a difference. Sign the petition.
