DeviantART will soon be forced to switch to eclipse mode. This, however, isn't helping the community. DeviantART eclipse is not very user friendly, especially to new people. This version of the site is buggy, and not to mention difficult to navigate. 

        Many dA users are used to the old site, and this new version being forced upon them is only driving them away. The community as a whole will significantly drop in numbers on May 20th, when dA eclipse is forced upon all website users to use. Is this really what we want? 

        No. It's not. People have made friends through this website that they can't contact elsewhere that they'll just lose for a silly reason like using a shitty website. The staff team has not listened to suggestions and has hardly fixed any bugs, and the site is a pain to navigate. Sure, users will get used to it, but the site is so downright awful that nobody even wants to take that route. Many people who have used this site for years will either drop in activity or leave as a whole, using other social platforms to upload their art and interact with people. 

        I don't even want to get into the awful layout of this website. When trying to edit my bio on mobile, the keyboard will constantly drop every time I try and type. Now, I could just use the mobile app, right? Wrong. Using the app could be useful, if my deviantART bio on eclipse wasn't from sometime last year and hadn't updated when i updated my bio on the app. This may be a personal bug, but still a huge problem nonetheless. 

     On the bright side of things, dA groups don't seem to be affected much by this website update. However, this one pro does not by any means outweigh the cons. I'm pretty darn sure groups aren't the main reason people are here on this website and part of this community. 

        So, basically, do not make eclipse mandatory. It's awful, buggy, and difficult to navigate, and is driving the community away.
