Pump Track for Snodland
Pump Track for Snodland
Why this petition matters
Snodland's young bike riders have nowhere to ride and practice their skills in a safe, traffic-free environment.
Community Cycleworks is a not for profit organisation that works to promote cycling to young people and their families. We are working to reduce anti-social riding while encouraging sport, skill progression, healthy choices and mental wellbeing through positive social interactions.
We started up Snodland Bike Club with the help of the kids themselves. One of the main aims of the project is to help kids from Snodland and the surrounding areas find somewhere safe to ride and develop their skills in a fun but, most importantly, a segregated environment.
A pump track is a purpose-built cycling facility with banked turns and jump features designed specifically to challenge and progress bike handling skills.
We propose building a pump track in the grassy area at Snodland Community Centre, Paddlesworth Road, ME6 5BF.
It would be a community facility, open to everyone, every day and hopefully, it would become a focal point of your community.
We have the support of Clarion Housing and Futures, Kent Fire & Road Safety, Kent Police Tonbridge, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, Mitie, Kent Youth Service.
This is your chance to say you support your kids in your community. Is this a good idea? Can we count on your support too?
