People in India are beaten and sometimes even killed because of their sexual orientation or because they do not conform to cultural norms about how men and women should look or behave. Life-saving care is withheld from people because they are transgender, equal access to justice is denied to people because they are transgender or public spaces are out of bounds to people because they are transgender.

The transgender community in India has faced discrimination in our country. The members of transgender are denied opportunities of employment, housing, and healthcare. At times they are unable to purchase food from the PDS.

Imagine how would you feel for being discriminated against for who you are? We as Cisgender Individuals must stand with the Transgender Community. 

The transgender community deserves the dignity and respect that most people take for granted.

Let us all stand together as a society with the trans community. Remember, gender identity is not a choice, trans hate is!

The Delhi Government must establish a Transgender Welfare Board to increase access to essential services for transgender people, including health care, housing, education, and employment. The Transgender Welfare Board must follow the guidelines of NALSAR Verdict mainly the right to self identification.

Similarly, housing facilities should be provided to the transgender community as they are usually denied housing. There must be an exclusive help to support the Transgender community during the time of distress.
