Samsung is rolling our their hdmi 2.1 certified televisions from 2018 (Q900RA with updated one connect box), 2019 Q900RB (North America) and Q950 (EU model), as well as other televisions from that line up prior to their 2020 launch with the new "T" model tvs.

They have been quoted to say we are "entering into a streaming world" and appear to have no interest in supporting full bandwidth lossless audio via eARC on their television's (Such as Dolby Atmos True HD). The customer's of Samsung have been requesting eARC support since 2018 and they have received ZERO support for the audio technology or a definitive answer if it will ever be supported. This is unacceptable and sad that a petition even has to be made to achieve any form of support potential! "Streaming world" or not there is no compromise for lossless full bandwidth audio that you receive from physical media and what happens when streaming companies start sending out lossless audio options? Samsung customers will be left behind. We are not "entering a streaming world" we are entering a world of media CHOICES! This response was very unnerving to me as it represents a rationale that lower quality (in general) is acceptable and customer's will need to compromise rather than companies providing the quality of the current time's and what customers should expect from top manufacturers!

Why is this a problem? Because if you have devices such as the Xbox One X and wish to have gaming features such as "VRR and ATMOS" you have to choose... due to not having an eARC compatible television... you require an Atmos enabled receiver or sound bar to receive full bandwidth audio OR you must sacrifice lossless audio in order to utilize gaming features because you CAN'T DO BOTH.

The Xbox One X would need to be directly connected to the television for gaming features such as VRR but no ATMOS... or connect the Xbox One X to your Atmos enabled receiver or soundbar BUT no gaming features (freesync/VRR/ALLM/Game mode auto switching).

This is one of many reasons why eARC compatability is so important! The technology for eARC could easily be added to tvs from 2018 onwards via a simple firmware update but it has yet to happen! This needs to be resolved or I am certain Samsung will lose customers to the competition permanently. I love my Samsung products but with this new direction in "streaming world" mindset and lack of current technology support (or near outright refusal to support) is absolutely disgusting.
