Every year, Birth Alerts are abused in provinces such as Quebec and Saskatchewan to target indigenous families and infants. Indigenous children are already over represented in the overwhelmed Foster Care system, and causes further trauma to communities still reeling from the effects of Residential Schools.

This will start to repair the damage the Canadian Government has caused our valuable Indigenous communities, and help eliminate some of the bias against indigenous people in the Medical Community.

We the Treaty defenders request the funds to be redirected to mental health, harm reduction and addiction treatment for indigenous people who've been harmed by the Residential schools and Foster care system.
