Act now to discourage the Montgomery County Council from passing dramatic changes to County zoning rules that could permanently alter the appearance, density and value our our neighborhoods. 

The legislation the Council is considering, ZTA 19-01, would essentially change single family zoning to multi-dwelling by allowing construction of an additional detached house, called an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), on lots as small as 6,000 square feet.  This ‘stealth zoning change’ would permit this additional unit, that could include trailer-like structures on concrete slabs in the backyards of existing single family homes. It would increase our density and put further strain on our already strained infrastructure. (traffic, parking, water, sewer, schools)
