Save The Palmerston - East Dulwich, SE22
Why this petition matters
The Palmerston is a local pub and restaurant which has been open on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich for 15 years. It is run by partners Jamie and Rema plus a great team of local men and women. Unfortunately Enterprise Inns who own the lease, want it back. They say they are committed to only taking back pubs that are not working, this is clearly not the case with The Palmerston. Jamie and Rema not only live locally but care about the area and the community. They offer their function room for free for local groups including the Women's Institute craft group, a local networking group, Cooking with Scissors plus a local baking group Band of Bakers.
For the last five years they have hosted a charity lunch raising much-needed funds for the local charity Link Age Southwark. They have donated many vouchers to the local schools for their raffles.
Why take back a pub that is actually working only to replace it with another generic pub with no personality. We have seen other pubs been sold on to big corporates and lose all the character that made them great in the first place.
Let's try and save the pub we love and fight against another big chain taking a prime place on Lordship Lane. If we don't get behind our local, independent businesses, then we will have another High Street, like anywhere else.
Sign our petition and let the EI Group know, we want to keep The Palmerston as it is! Please share this as far and wide as you can.
