La liberté de culte est plus que jamais menacé en Algérie.

En effet, les responsables de l’Église Protestante en Algerie (EPA) viennent d’être informés par les services de sécurité que trois autres lieux de culte se trouvant à Makouda, dont la fermeture est prévue pour aujourd’hui (15 Octobre),et de l’église du Plein Évangile de Tizi-Ouzou (EPPETO), dont la mise sous scellé est programmée pour ce mercredi (16 Octobre) et l’église de Tafat (Tizi-Ouzou) pour la semaine prochaine.Ces trois fermetures porteront le nombre total des lieux de culte protestants fermés en Algérie,en l’espace de deux ans seulement, à 12.

Nous assistons, malheureusement, à une mise à mort programmée de la liberté d’exercice du culte en Algérie, l’un des droits fondamentaux de l’homme, inscrit dans la Chartre des Nations Unies et consacré par la constitution algérienne dans son article 42.

Freedom of worship is now more than ever threatened in Algeria.

The leaders of the Protestant Church in Algeria  (EPA French: Église Protestante d’Algérie) have just been informed by government security services that three other places of worship are scheduled to be closed down in the near future.

These churches include a church located in Makouda, whose closing is planned for today (Oct. 15), the Full Gospel Church of Tizi-Ouzou, which is scheduled to be sealed this upcoming Wednesday (Oct. 16) and the church of Tafat (Tizi-Ouzou) which is scheduled to be closed next week. These three closures will bring the total number of closed Protestant churches to 12 in just the last two years.

We are unfortunately witnessing the purposeful extermination of religious liberty and expression in Algeria, despite the fact that this a fundamental human right according to the Charter of the United Nations and is also included in article 42 of the Algerian Constitution.
