DC Government: Replace the 295 Pedestrian Bridge Near Kenilworth Avenue in NE
DC Government: Replace the 295 Pedestrian Bridge Near Kenilworth Avenue in NE
Why this petition matters
On June 23rd, the pedestrian bridge that carries people over Interstate 295 collapsed due to being in poor condition (See link below). This bridge is a vital resource for residents who live in Ward 7 and 8 and connects residents to important services across the Anacostia river. The DC Department of Transportation has indicated in news reports that they likely wont replace this bridge due to lack of use (See link below). This is hard to believe as many residents need these bridges to access vital services that aren't located in Ward 7 or 8. Please sign this petition and let DC government leaders know that this bridge and other pedestrian bridges are vital for DC residents who live east of the river.
