Unnecessary, harmful plastic packaging covers the food in our supermarkets because it is cheap and convenient. Supermarkets are unwilling to devote the time and effort that would be required to change the way they package food.

Placing a tax on plastic packaging will see it disappear: supermarkets will not be prepared to use this harmful, unnecessary material if we make it expensive.
