Bring Achievements Back To Ubisoft Connect on PC
Why this petition matters
Hi everyone,
Upon the release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC there didn't seem to be achievements available to players, my thought and I'm sure others thoughts was that it was a bug causing this, as Watch Dogs Legion that released only 2 weeks prior did have achievements on PC.
However upon coming across a post on the Ubisoft forums a reply from a Ubisoft support Staff stated that "Achievements are not available for this title on PC and that it is an intended change and will be replaced by challenges for all future games." But the challenges are much simpler tasks ,nowhere as fulfilling to complete and there are only 31 challenges compared to the 50 achievements on console.
Nearly all the posts on the thread about this on the forum, as well as a reddit thread are against the removal of achievements on PC. With many stating that they are going to request refunds. Forum discussion link, Reddit discussion link. And another Reddit discussion.
I think that me and many other players feel that ubisoft has neglected PC players, achievements/trophies have been an integral feature for many gamers for over a decade, so removing them for PC is not a good decision. On the console versions of Assassin's Creed Valhalla achievements are still there, so it's not like they have much to do to implement them on PC. There's even a picture where there is an achievement tab implemented into the game so it was so still a feature at one point. Picture above.
There are a few ways that Ubisoft could do to solve this, firstly they could just add the achievements back into the game and keep them for all future games as the are already implemented on consoles so should not be to difficult to add to PC.
Secondly they could change the challenges to make them the same requirements as the achievements. So that PC players don't feel left out.
I hope that this gets resolved in some sort of way, and that PC players can feel like they aren't being overlooked.
Thanks
