Our children love their new school building in Cork! The issue is getting to it. 

Residents in Mount Oval, Forthill, Broadale and other areas live greater than the required 3.2km to avail of school transport. Unfortunately though, Bus Eireann believe that the most traversable route is shorter than 3.2km. This route is explained in the link below but involves going the wrong way down a one way road, turning left onto the soon to be M28 and walking beside 3 lanes of traffic travelling at 100km/hr. They then have to cross 3 lanes of traffic and walk Down a narrow road with no pathway to their school.

The school is meant to encourage car transport reduction but Bus Eireann will not provide transport for 50kids even though the current bus passes by these estates and picks up kids that live closer to the school.

We want Bus Eireann to engage with us to find a solution to this problem. We want our elected officials to help us get a bus service in place ASAP.
