The FIA who claim F1 is an international sport is closing the door on Andretti Autosport's bid to enter as a new team for 2024.

Andretti Autosport is an American team, with huge success in many areas of auto racing, and is extremely qualified to bring in a new team that can be competitive in F1. Michael Andretti is a former F1 driver as well as being the son of one of the most successful autosport drivers of all time, Mario Andretti. 

The fact that they have all the credentials, but the FIA won't allow a new team with all the finances in place and the resources to be competitive is ludicrous.

The FIA have made it extremely difficult to enter the sport, putting a 200 Million entry fee to keep out wannabe teams... Yet, Andretti Motorsport is more than willing to put up the finances and have the resources to also be competitive.

So it seems hypocritical on the FIA and the existing teams to not allow a new competitor into the sport. They, the teams, asked for the 200 million to offset the prize money they could potentially be losing, they all agreed 200 million was good compensation, and now they are walking it back. 

There are also some great new talented drivers who deserve a seat in F1, but due to only 20 cars on the grid, we're allowing paid drivers to have a shot before truly deserving drivers. Don't we want to see the best drivers in the sport behind the wheel? America has some really good talent, and Andretti Autosport will certainly allow for great talent to get behind their wheel. They want to win, so only deserving drivers will end up in their cars.

If the FIA want to play in the American market, grow the sport in America, they should be considering the fans and have a home team driver and a home team to get behind. This is a global sport that should have global representation.

Having Andretti Autosport enter the grid is a dream come true for many fans, especially Americans. The FIA shouldn't even be thinking twice about this amazing opportunity to bring in a new team ownership of this caliber to the grid.
