Loren Daniel es un hombre trans, docente e investigador.

Fue estudiante ejemplar en licenciatura, maestría y doctorado, así como también trabajador excepcional en la Facultad de Psicología (FaPsi) de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). Fue contratado recién egresado del doctorado como docente y prefecto.

Loren es conocido por ser ético, confiable, trabajador y honesto. Su meta profesional es ser docente de tiempo completo, realizar talleres de derechos humanos, y seguir haciendo investigación sobre su área de especialidad: calidad de vida en poblaciones vulnerables.

Sin embargo, en el 2017, después de avisar en la Facultad de Psicología que había cambiado su nombre y género, el director le retiró su contrato como docente, su seguro médico, sus grupos de tutorías, y le ha negado la oportunidad de volver a ser docente sin ninguna explicación.

En febrero de 2018, Loren presentó una queja por discriminación ante la Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos de Nuevo León, y meses después fue despedido injustificadamente.

Más que tratarse de un caso aislado, los despidos injustificados son una realidad que constantemente viven las personas trans al hacer su transición  o rectificar su nombre y género.

Es por lo anterior que exigimos:

1. Que se restituyan las 15 horas clase que Loren tenía asignadas en FaPsi, así como su seguridad social a través de servicios médicos de la UANL.
2. Que el exdirector de FaPsi sea investigado por incurrir en violencia de género, discriminación y difamación contra Loren.

Todas las personas, independientemente de su género, tenemos derecho a la identidad, a la educación, a los servicios de salud, y a un trabajo que nos permita tener una vida digna.

Loren Daniel is a trans man, a teacher, and a researcher.

During his bachelor, masters and doctoral studies, Loren Daniel was an exemplary student, as well as an exceptional employee in the Faculty of Psychology of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL) in Mexico. He was hired as prefect and teacher after his doctorate degree.

Loren is a person known for his ethics, reliability, hard work, and honesty. His goals as a professional are to be a full-time university professor, to assemble human rights workshops, and to continue research in his area of expertise: quality of life in vulnerable populations.

Nevertheless, after announcing in the Faculty of Psychology about his name and gender change, the principal withdrew his teaching hours, his health benefits, the students he tutored, and has deny him the opportunity to return to teaching.

In february 2018 Loren filed a discrimination complaint to the Human Rights Commission (CEDHNL), and months later, Loren was unjustly fired.

Far from this being an isolated case, unfair dismissals are a reality that trans people constantly experience when making their transition or changing their name/gender.

Due to the reasons above, we demand:

1. To reinstate Loren his 15 teaching hours, as well as his social security benefits.
2. That the principal of the Faculty of Psychology be reported to an investigation for incurring in gender violence, discrimination, and difamation against Loren.

Let us remember that all people, regardless of their gender, have the right to one's identity, education, healthcare, and an employment to live a life with dignity.
