The FAA refuses to listen to any drone pilots on the reasons why Remote ID is a bad idea. In theory, knowing where drones are in the sky could be a good thing, after all, they are technically aircraft. However, the RID system will publically broadcast where the drone pilot is.

Why is this an issue?

1. It will allow anyone to know where that pilot is making them essentially a public target for people who just don't agree with drones or know the actual laws.
2. Drone pilots often carry thousands of dollars worth of gear with them, RID sets them up as a target of theft.

What should change?

What should change is that the public should not have access to the pilot's location, it's that simple. We know RID is going into effect but it doesn't mean it can't be safer and satisfy the FAA. There is not a single reason that the public needs to know where drone pilots are operating from, it's unnecessarily putting us in danger.
