Save our Tonbridge Miniature Railway
Save our Tonbridge Miniature Railway
Why this petition matters
Many will have recently read the terrible news the Tonbridge and Malling Leisure Trust's preferred relocation of the Angel Centre is next to Tonbridge Swimming Pool on the site of our town's fabulous miniature railway, run by the wonderful people at Tonbridge Model Engineering Society (TMES).
The miniature railway is part of the identity of Tonbridge and has been for more than seventy years since it was formed in 1944. Various extensions over the years have resulted in the track we all know and love today - about one third of a mile long complete with signalling and safety rail and containing over 4000 sleepers and over 200 rail joints. Membership has risen to well over 90 with about 50 locomotives.
With this petition we aim to get as many people as possible to sign to save the Tonbridge miniature railway from coming under threat of relocation or complete closure. Please help us save it for many future generations who live in and visit our beautiful town of Tonbridge.
