Smoking has been on the downfall in the US for years.  We no longer allow smoking in stores, restaurants, and many other places.  Smokers who stay in hotel's and motel's have to generally go upstairs or have the crappiest rooms.  Yet the casino's on cruise ships still allow smoking but that is the only place indoors where it is allowed.  The rest must go outside and it's time to change that forever.

I know that personally I do not want to even be around smokers at all and cringe when a smoker walks past me in a store because they reek.  Cruise ships do no generally have doors on the casino's to facilitate easier entry and exit and I know that on Royal Caribbean ships there is often a set of stairs directly into the casino from the deck above and on a recent sailing walking past those stairs you ended up with a face full of cigarette smoke. So considering that the number of smokers has fallen to all time lows it's time to take the steps to clean out the onboard casino's as well.

So this is a challenge to all of the cruise lines not limited to but including:

To permanently ban smoking onboard their ships in any indoor venue that is designated for use by all passengers and stop catering to smokers.  Having a small indoor area that is only for smoking is perfectly fine but allowing these people who choose a habit that harms themselves to bring harm to those people who do not smoke is no longer acceptable.  If you don't allow smoking in the rooms, in the restaurants, in the theaters, or in other public indoor area's of a ship you should not have it in the casino's.

And I am not alone, there 285,428,620 people in the US who do not smoke or about 86% of the population and believe me we don't want to be around it any more.  Lets make another change in the world for the better.
