Stop LA Zoo’s 650 million expansion!
Why this petition matters
Help protect our native woodlands, its ecosystems and preserve 23 acres of natural habitat. Say no to LA Zoo’s expansion plans!
LA Zoo is planning a $650 million expansion. Officials are considering a controversial transformation, hoping it would give it a competitive edge in a market dominated by powerhouse tourist attractions. “The zoo’s plan is another attempt to squeeze more money out of Griffith Park, a designated L.A. Cultural-Historic Monument,” said Clare Darden, a board member of the Griffith J. Griffith Charitable Trust. “There is no need for another amusement park in L.A. But there is dire need for preserving its increasing rare native ecosystems.”
Wild animals should not be kept in captivity for our entertainment, the mere idea of depriving a creature of its freedom for the sole purpose of our enjoyment, it’s something that we, as a society, should have abandoned long ago. Help preserving protected lands and its habitants. Help us by sharing this petition, we are running against time. Thank you for your support!
