After the Earthquakes: End the Sanctions on Syria

We are heartbroken by Monday's devastating earthquakes in Turkey and northern Syria, which killed thousands of people and left tens of thousands homeless.

In government-held areas of Syria, like Aleppo, sanctions are hindering the delivery of aid to survivors. Financial sanctions make it extremely difficult for aid organizations to receive funds from abroad; even Syrians living abroad cannot send money to their family members in desperate need. The ban on fuel imports makes delivering aid expensive, sometimes impossible. And the Caesar Act blocks all foreign companies from participating in reconstruction - which is more urgently needed than ever.
