Why this petition matters

Started by Nuella Naimi

It is our belief that due to Canada's sheer size and youthfulness as a nation, it lacks a unified and defined culture. Our mission is to provide Canada with accessible and affordable sauna locations for people to connect, be healthy and enjoy nature together

It is our belief that saunas will form a foundational aspect of how Canadians sculpt and develop a meaningful and world-renowned culture over the next 100 years.

Imagine visitors and residents of Canada having access to SAUNAS throughout cities, municipalities, beaches, parks, both provincial and federal, lakes, and unique locations across the entire country.

Patrons will be able to book, check occupancy levels, and discover new community hangout spots. We envision a flourishing self-care and social scene that is financially accessible for everyday people.

It’s no secret that our population is in need of working out our differences, imagine playing a simple role in that process by providing spaces for that sacred process to finally take place in Canada.

Our backbone is in regenerative finance, a human family approach to ethics, and user-friendly technology that gets users off their devices and face-to-face with people they want to connect with.

WE ARE SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE AND YET WE FEEL ALONE

The problem continues to lie in the way we have attempted to socialize and connect with each other often in settings of consumption, alcohol, and or in sport.

The majority of spaces available for people to connect revolve around loud recreation centers and expensive spas that are not habitually accessible and don’t promote conversation and socialization. Other options include clubs, restaurants, and bars that are focused on alcohol and food profits.

Due to our fast-paced & high-stress lifestyles, we are suffering. A normal person’s Monday to Friday schedule after preparing for work, commuting both ways, working, and sleeping generally has between 2-4 hours of downtime daily. There is no wonder why we are so stressed and need vacations from how we live.

Physically we are distant from each other (our geography). This has led to people feeling generally isolated, and now with the surge of technology, even more so as the population is using devices behind closed doors in solitude.

There is no greater killer than Stress, and it is rampant amongst our population! Our healthcare system demands are always massive, and part of the problem is the lack of preventative education on how to take care of our bodies holistically.

Depression & Disconnection have more than half of Canadians feeling down, depressed, or hopeless (56%) and feeling little interest or pleasure in doing things (59%), while nearly three-quarters felt tired or had little energy (72%). In some of the world's most developed countries, suicide and/or depression rates have found all-time heights and Canada is one of one them. This is a major epidemic and reality for many Canadians, who feel a general lack of luster for life and or an overall disconnected feeling inside and out.

Our Climate for more than half the year is cold in Canada, and spending time in nature becomes more challenging. The cold seasons increase time spent indoors and in isolation.

Countries across the world that reach the age of 500+ years or more of forming (other than overly arid ones), have pivoted from making bathing an exclusively hygienic activity into one of hydrotherapy, a cultural place to congregate, connect, find peace and heal the body. In some perspectives, because our Country is so new, we have had to rely on other cultures to make our own. Canadians deserve to claim together an amazing lifestyle. Our West coast Bathhouse Brand is aimed to ignite the formation unification about to happen in Canada.
