Let's end the censorship of menstruation.
Let's end the censorship of menstruation.
Why this petition matters
Menstrual blood, a natural bodily fluid that ~50% of the population experiences monthly at some point in their life, is prohibited from being shown on broadcast television under the US Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) "Indecent, Obscene, and Profane" content clause.
MOONS, a menstrual care company working to enhance the information, language, and products surrounding this monthly experience, is challenging this practice.
The campaign "Our Bodies Are Not Indecent" invites the public to reconsider the cultural acceptance of violence-based blood in our media but not the blood of our natural cycles.
By censoring menstruation, we encourage societal stigma and ignorance. But by normalizing it, we encourage public knowledge and respect for women's health, bodies, and experiences.
Please sign this petition, and encourage the FCC to end its outdated censorship policies around menstruation. For more information, please visit www.RespectTheMoon.com
