Why this petition matters

Started by Mbonisi Masuku

Description: We, the undersigned, are calling for urgent action to address the exploitation and human trafficking of immigrants recruited from Zimbabwe into Poland by Romix Sp zo.o. Immigrants are promised good salaries and free accommodation for trucking jobs, but upon arrival, they are forced to work in farms under exploitative conditions.

Injustice: Immigrants who refuse farm work are punished by being forced to pay for
accommodation. They are compelled to redo licenses at their own expense, and the company withholds their payment, keeping them in the farms as cheap labor. Many drivers go for months without pay, and those who do get paid often face unauthorized deductions to the benefit of the company.

Furthermore, the company does not adhere to the labor code of Poland, as there is no
fixed date for remuneration, and the company pays whenever it feels fit to do so. We are raising our voices against the unjust and coercive actions of Romix Sp.zo.o, which is forcing us to cede our power of attorney. This action would grant the company the ability to cancel our Temporary Residence Applications and permits without our consent or input. We believe that this coercive behavior is a violation of our rights and goes against the principles of fairness and justice. It creates a hostile and exploitative work environment for us as immigrant workers. We strongly oppose this injustice and refuse to accept such abuse of power.

Victimization: Those who dare to voice their concerns are victimized and unfairly dismissed, often being abandoned at train stations in the middle of the night without money or a place to go. We stand together in solidarity to fight against this exploitation and injustice. We seek support from the relevant authorities and the community at large to ensure that immigrant workers are treated with dignity and fairness

We demand that the company respect our rights as immigrant workers and refrain from any further attempts to force us into ceding our power of attorney. We also call for an investigation by the Polish government into the company's actions and urge for appropriate legal measures to be taken to protect the rights of immigrant workers in Poland.

We demand that the Polish government and the international community intervene to stop this trafficking and exploitation
of immigrants. We also call for the prosecution of Romix management and fair compensation for the victims
