Why this petition matters

Started by Beth Eldridge

Louisville and Superior could lose our towns twice. Once from fire. And a second time from banks foreclosing and wealthy developers buying land at discounted prices from fire victims who can't afford to wait a long time for more fair settlements. Please implore government officials, housing nonprofits, and ethical developers to develop quick solutions to keep our towns resident owned with room for middle and low income folks. Stop the land grab!

When I survived Hurricane Hugo, high end vacation rental developers bought up most of the island of Folly Beach through taking advantage of homeowners like us. Similar things happened during Katrina and many other disasters. Can we stop this from happening here?

We in Colorado are already desperate for affordable housing. Please use this opportunity to support middle and low income residents, not the first corporation / person who can pay off desperate victims.
