Nyree Applegarth, a property litigation lawyer from Higgs LLP, wants to petition the government to create a tenant register as a tool for property landlords to determine why tenants were evicted from a rental property.

The register would allow landlords to do background checks on potential tenants to see if they have a history of damaging property or refusing to pay their rent – creating a more transparent approach to the rental market.
