Twenty years ago, the horrifying attack on the Twin Towers took place. In the aftermath of the attack, 3,000 NY transit workers participated in a rescue and recovery effort. They removed debris, cleaned and protected MTA facilities, illuminated the site, and restored communications equipment.

In the years following the attack, the National September 11th Memorial and Museum was constructed to serve as a repository for information and remembrance concerning the attack which brought down the World Trade Center towers.

Despite their work, the museum has never recognized the 3,000 transit workers that were assigned by the New York City Transit/ MTA to respond to the attack. These workers deserve recognition and to be honored in the museum.

We request that the Museum include a prominent exhibit that is open to the public and acknowledges the important role these transit workers played in the rescue and recovery effort on 9/11/01. Please join us in adding your voice and your support for NY transit workers.
