Why this petition matters

Started by Gladys Hrabi

As a deeply concerned Canadian citizen, I am reaching out to address the urgent need for enhanced palliative care and mental health services in our country. Many of our fellow Canadians are struggling without access to essential services such as palliative care, mental health support, and resources for individuals with disabilities. Their needs extend beyond medical assistance; they also lack basic necessities like housing, food, companionship, and financial support.

According to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), 7.5 million people in Canada are living with a mental health problem or illness today. Yet only one-third receive adequate care - this is unacceptable.

We must urge our government officials to prioritize the enhancement of palliative care and mental health services across Canada urgently. We need policies that ensure all Canadians have access to comprehensive supports that meet both their medical and basic life needs.

Our Mission should be Assistance in Living, not expanding MAiD.
