It has become more than obvious that trading through dark pool markets have been used as nothing but a market manipulation tactic to have the upper hand against retail investers. When a Hedge Fund has short positions on a security Dark Pool has been used consistently to buy that security, but then sell onto the free markets. This creates selling pressure, while suppressing volume. In turn, this is stealing money from millions of retail investers if they are long on these positions. This has previously researched by the SEC and there were claims that only a portion of investments were through dark pool markets. However, this is completely beside the point. If a overwhelming percentage of any security is bought through dark pool, and then the sell orders are processed through free markets then this WILL ALWAYS hinder that security's ability for financial growth, or they can reverse this same pattern for trades they are long on and cause the security to inflate financially to levels it normally wouldn't be at. Long story short- (I believe) this has been used as the greatest market manipulation tactic in the history of the free world, and I believe a huge percentage of Americans (primarily investers) share the same belief. The signatures of this petition should stand as a firm statement that retail investers are fed up with institutions having the upper hand in what is portrayed as a free market
