When I was three years old, my dad died due to environmentally-induced Leukemia. Growing up without a dad, knowing it could have been prevented, I have a particular sensitivity to the illnesses that are caused by faulty environmental regulations. The Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of the EPA having less regulation power than it already has. Not only is this an unprecedented decision, it is a threat to our health and well-being. Lancet Planetary Services estimate that there were over 9 million premature deaths in 2015 due to pollution.
If we allow for this decision to become implemented and official, these statistics will multiply. I will fight for the day when stories like mine, and many others, are few and far between. 
While in the political world it is common to see disagreements, the one thing we can all agree upon is the fact that the earth is our home. We deserve to get a say in the condition of our home. We deserve to hold our governmental officials accountable. We deserve to not fear our health because companies are too stuck in monetary success. 
Our home deserves to be protected. Sign if you want to see our health protected and for the Supreme Court to revisit their decision.
