We are writing to bring attention to a critical issue affecting hosts on Airbnb and demand accountability from both Airbnb and their payment partner, Payoneer.

Recent reports have exposed Airbnb's failure to protect guests from hosts who violate privacy by installing cameras in rooms, including bathrooms. This blatant disregard for guest safety is unacceptable and demands immediate action from Airbnb.

Furthermore, many hosts have faced significant challenges with receiving payments through Payoneer. While Airbnb initially provided an exciting opportunity for homeowners to generate extra income by renting out additional rooms, the payment process has become increasingly problematic.

In my own experience and many friends, I have been using Payoneer for almost four years without any issues. However, in 2020, Payoneer suddenly blocked some of our accounts, citing a discrepancy in dates of birth and may other reasons such as address verification and many more. Despite lengthy delays and efforts to resolve the issue, I lost all the funds in my original account when Payoneer finally helped me create a new one. Since then, I have not received any payments from Airbnb due to continuous excuses from Payoneer.

Upon researching online, I discovered that I am not alone in facing these challenges. Thousands of hosts have been similarly affected by Payoneer's actions, yet Airbnb refuses to acknowledge their responsibility in ensuring hosts receive their rightful payments. We demand immediate action from Airbnb to rectify this situation:

1. Airbnb must take responsibility for the actions of their payment partner, Payoneer, and work to resolve payment issues promptly and transparently.
2. Airbnb should prioritize guest and host safety by implementing stricter policies to prevent hosts from loosing their incomes to the benefit of a third party
3. Airbnb must provide adequate support and assistance to hosts who encounter payment issues, including compensation for lost earnings and improved communication channels for resolving disputes.

Together, we can ensure that hosts receive fair treatment and that Airbnb upholds its commitment to providing a safe and reliable platform for guests and hosts alike.
