Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was shot and killed by the IDF whilst covering an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank town of Jenin on Wednesday 11 May 2022.  Shireen was one of the region’s most experienced and well-loved correspondents and was known throughout the Middle East.  Shireen was wearing a blue flack jacket, clearly marked with the words “PRESS” and her murder was clearly a war crime.  Throughout her career she covered all the major events in the Palestinian territory.  This heroic woman had great courage and determination in highlighting the plight of the Palestinian people and their eternal struggle against the brutality and ethnic cleansing from their own land.  This is the reality of Israel’s occupation.

We are calling on the MPs from all political parties, media and organisations to publicly condemn these brutal actions against the Palestinian people.
