Animal trafficking deeply and negatively affects the lives of the animals being used as a currency of money. Throughout Nicaragua, you will find puppies, monkeys, and exotic birds bought or stolen from the wild, shoved in small cages, and being sold on the side of the road or online. 

The puppies specifically, are neglected, treated roughly, and sold in an unhealthy state, without vaccines, deworming, or proper nutrition. They are then sold to their new owner sick and riddled with health problems or suffer to death without medical care or love. 

As this illegal practice continues to thrive, these animals continue to be used for money, and suffer the consequences. By not pushing against these acts of cruelty, we are only promoting it. 

With enough signatures, we plan to present this petition to authorities to help support this cause and prohibit all animal trafficking in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua and beyond.
