We recognise that getting as many Kiwis vaccinated as possible is critical to minimising harm and ending Covid lockdowns.

The vast majority of New Zealanders have now done their bit & been vaccinated.

However, there are certain groups who are failing (despite many opportunities & encouragement) to get vaccinated. By doing so they are putting everyone at risk, particularly vulnerable communities like the immune-compromised, children under 12, the elderly & Maori & Pacifica peoples.

Your government has said it will introduce stringent measures to encourage vaccination, including vaccine mandates and certificates. However there is one tool you seem to be avoiding.

We ask you to immediately suspend the benefit of any eligible but unvaccinated individual. This will provide a very strong incentive to encourage all unvaccinated Kiwis to get themselves and their family vaccinated immediately.

If businesses can be denied access to government funding if they refuse to comply with the new Covid Protection Framework and if people can lose their jobs for refusing to be vaccinated then it is only fair that beneficiaries too should be subject to loss of income for failing to do their bit as part of the team of 5 million.

If you are as serious about defeating Covid as you have said then this is a logical and fair tool to use.

By delaying or refusing to vaccinate, the unvaccinated are holding to ransom millions of Kiwis who have followed the rules. This is the opposite of democracy: every tool must be used.

No jab, no benefit.
