Why this petition matters

Started by Julianna Pegnataro

In the midst of a stage 2-stage 3 drought in Connecticut, The University of New Haven has decided to still attempt to irrigate the grass by adding sprinklers. Not only are they not conserving the water supply, but they are also having the sprinklers spraying the sidewalks, roads, cars, and people. In a stage 2 drought, we are supposed to be conserving water by reducing sprinkler usage to 2 days a week, in a stage 3 drought the conservation rules are even more strict. University of New Haven is not conserving water by having the sprinklers on during a drought. Sign this petition to send a message out that the University of New Haven needs to turn off the sprinklers to contribute to conserving water, and encouraging the University to grow pro-native gardens rather than lawns to contribute to helping our environment .
