Pedition was a success, thank you for your support!
How do I host my own ARK server?
Check out this Discord: https://discord.gg/jgYZTbkBdK

Unofficial server hosting will not be possible! Either server teams are not allowed to host servers, or they are forbidden to make money with the server license. As a result, servers can no longer be paid for, and server teams will work hours to end up financing the servers themselves. We have to stop this, sign the petition now.

The success of the game ARK: Survival Evolved is largely due to the incredible community of this game. Thousands of players play on hundreds of unofficial servers every day and characterize the game. If there weren't such servers, there wouldn't be such a large community around the game. We believe that a game can only become successful with the support of the community.

ARK: Survival Ascended was meant to modernize the game. Unfortunately, long before the release of this game, a decision was made that would negatively impact the ARK community's future interaction with it. The server host Nitrado has the exclusive right to host and sell ARK: Survival Ascended servers. Furthermore, private individuals and small communities will only have the ability to host a single Steam account-authorized server with strict limitations. Communities with more than 10,000 active members have the opportunity to apply for a license to host their own non-commercial servers.

This step is a problem for us, and many other members of the ARK community. Smaller clusters and servers that made ARK: Survival Evolved successful have almost no chance of survival. Hosting a server at Nitrado is not an option for such servers due to Nitrado's pricing decisions. Hosting medium and large non-official ARK: Survival Ascended clusters at Nitrado is also not a possibility due to instability, poor DDOS protection, and difficult accessibility. Additionally, Nitrado takes a lot of freedom when it comes to hosting an ARK: Survival Ascended server. We do not support this decision by Studio Wildcard. We believe that a game can only become successful with the support of the community.

To prevent ARK: Survival Ascended from losing relevance for a large amount of the ARK community, we are petitioning Snail Games, Studio Wildcard, and Marbis GmbH to change the following things:

We don't want to have a limit of 10,000 members for self-hosted servers. We want full control over self-hosted servers and a free download. There must also be no restrictions due to the use of the server version for unofficial servers. An exclusivity for Nitrado to sell ARK: Survival Ascended servers is not a problem for us.

We think that only through these changes, the game ARK: Survival Ascended will be played in the existing ARK community. We believe that a game can only become successful with the support of the community. To make this message clear to the previously named studios, we will not play the game ARK: Survival Ascended and return it, and we as server owners are not willing (and in many cases unable) to run ARK: Survival Ascended servers under such conditions. We as community developers will stop the development of all services and tools for ARK: Survival Ascended.

We hope that this petition will be shared on all possible platforms and thus reach every single member of the ARK community. Every ARK player, server owner, developer, or anyone else involved in any way should know about this.
