Why this petition matters

Leila Wills, the head of a radical organization, is harassing the Universal Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx, New York, by distributing false information about it.

She doesn't support any of her absurd statements with any facts, proof, or evidence. These are nothing more than ludicrous slanderous charges made by this woman as she discusses a museum report's results as if they were the result of some sort of official government inquiry. She is only attempting to become well-known in order to purportedly sell her unrelated documentary, which has nothing to do with the hip-hop museum.

The museum was built to preserve the past, present, and future essence of hip hop. It is located in the Bronx, New York, the birthplace of hip hop. Rocky Bucano and a collection of legendary businesspeople and musicians, including Kurtis Blow, Ice T, LL Cool J, Nas, and many others, launched the Universal Hip Hop Museum. In the Bronx, they collaborated to establish the first Hip Hop museum in history.

A Message On The UHHM
This statement is being made by the Universal Hip Hop Museum (UHHM) in order to explain how the word "universal" is used in its name. The term "universal," as it appears in the name of the organization, Universal Hip Hop Museum, denotes the understanding of the influence of Hip Hop throughout the last almost 50 years since its beginning, as well as its global effect and ethnically and culturally varied character. The Universal Hip Hop Museum has no business or professional ties to any entities that utilize the word "Universal" in their titles. The Universal Zulu Nation, Universal Records, Universal Films, and the UHHM are all certified 501(c)(3) organizations that have no business or organizational ties to one other.

We support the Universal Hip Hop Museum in its current form, together with its creators Rocky Bucano and others, Mayor Eric Adams. We support the Universal Hip Hop Museum and demand that this woman cease her baseless accusations against the institution and any of its disinterested visitors, staff members, etc.

The Official Hip Hop Stands With Survivors (www.hiphopstandswithsurvivors.org) are with the Universal Hip Hop Museum.
