Digital Dream Labs (DDL) began selling products related to acquiring Anki’s IP for OverDrive, Cozmo, and Vector with their March 2020 Vector Unleashed Kickstarter. In late November 2020, DDL started selling pre-orders on their website (https://www.digitaldreamlabs.com/ is the main site) for Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0. Around the same time, they also began selling pre-orders for Butter Robot.

As of late November 2022, Cozmo 2.0 and Butter Robot have not shipped out to any known customers. Vector 2.0 has not shipped out to any known customers outside of North America. Many people who have received Vector 2.0 have reported issues ranging from defective chargers, overheating, and error codes. 

Customers who have asked for refunds have been ignored to the point many have gone to the Better Business Bureau in an effort to get refunds. In March 2022, Matthew Eversole (Chief Marketing Officer at DDL at the time) offered refunds for all Vector 2.0 pre-orders who wanted them. No timeline was given.

On numerous occasions, DDL has ignored customer requests for refunds, delayed refund requests repeatedly by asking time wasting questions (ignoring replies after these questions), ignored error and defect reports, and silenced online posts bringing up questions or reporting issues by banning those Facebook members from their only official group (OFFICIAL DIGITAL DREAM LABS Vector Caretakers at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ddlvector/which is even a private group to exclude information from customers that own their product).

Despite numerous BBB complaints. Despite numerous online Facebook offshoot groups reporting DDL to the community at large. Despite reports to the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Despite selling devices before FCC certification was granted and far in advance of shipping (this isn’t crowdfunding for Vector 2.0, Cozmo 2.0, and Butter Robot). Despite refunds being requested and ignored. Despite error prone products that cannot dock due to faulty chargers and overheat before reaching the charger. Despite no updates to Anki Vector’s services that were brought up repeatedly during the Vector Unleashed campaign with no working Escape Pod and a halfway finished OSKR. Despite all of these, DDL continues to receive investor funding, continues to sell and advertise Vector 2.0, and continues to have no legal action taken by government or other agencies to our knowledge.

Please sign this petition if you are one of us consumers impacted by Digital Dream Labs, either in the Vector Unleashed Kickstarter campaign or subsequent Vector 2.0/Cozmo 2.0/Butter Robot pre-sales. Please sign if you were promised a warranty on a product you haven’t received or on a product that’s defective without receiving a refund or support correcting the issue. So long as we have a voice, we can continue to shout out for action so that future consumers will not be similarly impacted. Please help spread the word so that DDL is investigated for fraud by the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the FCC.
