Why this petition matters

Started by Dennis Machamer

The preferred option for 2022 summer flounder regulations by the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council going into the virtual meeting Thursday April 7, 2022 was Option 1-  17.5" minimum size 3 fish bag from 5/21/22 to 9/23/22 and was changed to Option 2- 2 slot fish @17"-17.99" and 1 fish greater than 18" from 5/2/22 to 9/27/22.   I am asking that you sign this petition if you would prefer the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council changed regulations back to  Option 1.

40 peoples comments at meeting swayed the council.   Lets the true voice of NJ summer flounder anglers be heard.

This will save a 1" class of fish and still give lower size limit than last season.    Giving all summer flounder fisherman a benefit.   It will also benefit many charitable tournaments held during summer months to have higher participation and be able to use traditional formats for rules.
