Why this petition matters

Started by David Allery

First and foremost, the use of tapping or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), is an effective and powerful self-healing solution. I, like so many others, find true benefits in tapping on the nine meridian points of the body to address specific issues.

These issues range from fear, worry, and stress to other problems such as confidence or anxiety.

Addressing a much-needed topic

Tapping is so effective that I feel compelled to assist the founders of The Tapping Solution in addressing a much-needed topic. And that is, adding the ability to utilize captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing community when using The Tapping Solution app.

Without captioning, it's next to impossible to use the meditations within the app and, therefore, people who are deaf or HOH can NOT experience the benefits of this unique healing solution.

Who's affected?

According to statistics, it's estimated that 1 in 20 people in the United States are either deaf or hard-of-hearing. That would translate to 10 million people with hearing impairment and nearly one million who are functionally deaf. That's just the USA alone.

Now consider that on a worldwide basis and the numbers are staggering.

Fighting for the Deaf and HOH community

Being hard of hearing myself, I understand the struggles that a person with such an impairment goes through. Not only do we find it difficult to connect with other people socially but we also struggle with such things as stress, anxiety, confidence and other issues (just like people who hear well).

So I'm making an appeal on behalf of the deaf and HOH community to the founders of The Tapping Solution to add the ability to utilize captioning within their tapping app. The Ortners (Nick, Alex and Jessica) have been frontrunners in bringing the technique mainstream and, I believe, want to make it accessible to all. This would, of course, include the deaf and HOH community.
